The Donghu Road–Yanqing Road area in Shanghai's Xuhui district has emerged as a new lifestyle destination. Spanning about 1 kilometer, the locale has gained popularity among young people seeking trendy stores, creative experiences, and urban charm.

The area features a distinctive T-shaped street layout with narrow lanes that have retained their original scale and character. Nearly 40 percent of the shops are run by young entrepreneurs.

A standout destination is FUFU Shanghai on Donghu Road. Once an enclosed site, it has been transformed into a 1,500-square-meter courtyard-style space centered around a white, multi-level garden. The venue now houses seven flagship brands, including AromeManpo's first flagship store in China, Yeah Gelato's global flagship store, and South Korean independent fashion brand Sinoon's first store in China.

Heading westward, Yanqing Lane showcases the revitalization of historic spaces through contemporary concepts. ULT Coffee Roasters, founded by 2023 World Barista Championship winner Boram Um, has opened its overseas location here. Independent fashion brand Outcircs has also opened its first flagship store here, introducing a home-inspired concept spread across three floors.

Nearby, Xinle Road and Huating Road offer a mix of independent shops and international luxury pop-up stores. Brands such as BasementFG, EP Yaying, and Nice Rice are set among historic buildings, while Huating Road is home to labels including Sankuanz and niche fragrance store Laporte.

Throughout the year, a variety of cultural experiences, from fragrance workshops to handmade activities, continue to enrich the area's landscape.
