Qingpu district will host its first-ever marathon event on Dec 15.

The first Yangtze River Delta · Qingpu New City Half Marathon will allow runners to enjoy the adrenaline of running and the pleasure of sightseeing by connecting many of the district's tourist attractions.

The event will include a half-marathon and a 3.6-kilometer fun run, with 5,000 participants from 14 countries and regions having registered. Both routes will start at the Qinglifang Sports Center in Qingpu New City.

The half-marathon route will take runners past Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, Wanshou Pagoda, and the Songze Site Museum. The fun run course, meanwhile, will pass by the Qingpu District Library, Xiayang Lake, and the Qingpu Museum.
