Cambodian student encourages others to experience China
Many international students are often asked why they choose to study in China. A 23-year-old student from Cambodia at Tongji University shares her perspective:
I am a graduate student majoring in intellectual property law at Tongji University. During my time studying in China, I have learned a lot about the country, which is different from what I had expected.
Chinese people are warm, friendly, and ready to help. For example, if you encounter difficulties communicating in Chinese, they will patiently listen to you. Sometimes, they even assist you with translations.
Before I began learning Chinese, I had heard many assertions about the difficulty of studying the language. However, after studying at Tongji University alongside knowledgeable, patient, and caring teachers, I found that Chinese was not as challenging to learn as I had imagined. Our teacher, Professor Lin, employed many effective and interesting methods, allowing everyone to approach learning with a relaxed mindset.
China is a beautiful and safe country. When traveling around, whether visiting historical sites or modern attractions, it is very safe. As a foreign woman, I am not afraid of traveling alone across China because I feel a sense of security. The people I have encountered during my journeys are very friendly, making my travel memories delightful and heartwarming.
The wonderful experiences of studying, living, and traveling in China have left me with no regrets about my decision to study in the country. Everyone should come and see China with their own eyes.
