Intl students embrace the art of Chinese fan crafting at SHUPL
Over 40 international students from various countries took part in a delightful spring event at the Shanghai University of Political Science and Law on March 19, where they had the opportunity to explore the ancient art of crafting moon-shaped Chinese fans.
With guidance from the instructors, the students delved into the historical roots and artistic significance of the traditional fan. Beyond serving as a practical function for cooling, the fan integrates the arts of painting, calligraphy, and design. It carries beautiful connotations of reunion, kindness, and good fortune, emitting a profound humanistic appeal.
