Shanghai Lixin's intl students experience pottery crafts

International students from Russia, Mongolia, Morocco, Poland, and other countries took part in a Chinese traditional culture craft experience organized by the School of International Exchange of the Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance on March 20.

During the event, educators from the Confucius Institute provided insights into the significance of the Spring Equinox, Chunfen in Chinese, elucidating its role as the fourth solar term in the Chinese lunar calendar and delving into the rich history of Chinese ceramic culture.

Guided by instructors, the students engaged in hands-on clay shaping using pottery wheels, skillfully crafting vases and teacups. Upon completion, the pieces were meticulously painted and detailed. Reflecting on the experience, participants expressed their appreciation for the activity, noting a deepening of their understanding of Chinese solar term traditions and ceramic artistry.

This event offers international students a chance to understand Chinese culture and fosters cultural exchange. The School of International Exchange aims to diversify activities, advancing campus internationalization, ensuring that students from across the globe grasp China's essence and experience the profound beauty of Chinese culture.
