Shanghai University students explore Suzhou Creek's history
Students at Shanghai University visited the banks of Suzhou Creek in Jing'an district on July 11, exploring various landmarks and delving into the area's rich history.

The students learned about the creek's history and observed the blend of ancient and modern architecture.

Shanghai University also invited Yin Rong, international art curator, critic, and painter, and Zhou Jiong, director of the mobile theater production Butterfly Tales: Suhe Bay, to help the students understand Suzhou Creek's significance in Shanghai's history.
Yin elaborated on the historical evolution of Shanghai and Suzhou Creek, explaining the links between the city and the river.
Zhou Jiong shared the creative background of her production and discussed how it incorporates the rich historical and cultural resources of Jing'an district into its stage design.
Reflecting on the tour, Yew Yu Ying Kimberley from Malaysia remarked, "Suzhou Creek has witnessed Shanghai's transformation. I believe that in the future, Suzhou Creek will continue to see more changes and breakthroughs in Shanghai, and I hope that its cultural memory will continue to be preserved and passed on."
