Argentinean finds path to entrepreneurship in Shanghai

Cristian Jesus Inderkumer (Chinese name: Song Yifan)

In 2016, Inderkumer embarked on his academic journey at Southwest University of Science and Technology in Sichuan province, where he first encountered the Chinese language and traditional Chinese culture.

Reflecting on his experience, he says: "China is a beautiful country that warmly welcomed me".

In 2019, Inderkumer was admitted to the International Business program at the School of Economics, at Shanghai University. There, he rigorously studied economics, international trade and international commercial law, with the aspiration of founding a company in China after graduation.

To realize this ambition, he engaged in numerous internships and practical experiences in trade and economics, continually honing his skills.

Inderkumer also serves as a representative of the Civil Association for Cooperation between Argentina and China – promoting friendly ties between the two countries. He firmly believes that such collaborations are vital for enhancing the quality of life for people in both nations and for fostering global peace and development.

In August 2023, Inderkumer was interviewed by China Daily, where he gave his views on Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers targeting the Latin American market. [Photo provided by Cristian Jesus Inderkumer]

Two years after graduating, Inderkumer has successfully established a company in Shanghai and has been recognized as an international talent by the city.

He expresses his gratitude, saying: "I am deeply thankful to Shanghai University for the opportunity to start my career in China. My dream has finally become a reality!"
