Global students have a ball at ECNU table tennis tournament
The table tennis hall at the Putuo campus of East China Normal University was abuzz with excitement on Oct 23.
Over 40 students from more than 20 countries gathered for a table tennis tournament.
On the court, players gave their all, with each precise smash and clever defense earning enthusiastic applause and cheers from the audience.
After multiple rounds of intense competition, the champions of each event emerged.
In the men's singles, Lee Seong-won from South Korea clinched the title with his exceptional power and agile footwork. In the women's singles, Anastasiia Zakharenkova from Russia claimed the championship with her solid defense and precise counterattacks.
The doubles matches showed the players' teamwork and deep camaraderie. Ultimately, Vladimir Krotov from Russia and Merdan Soyunov from Turkmenistan emerged victorious in the men's doubles.
The mixed doubles title was won by Jayde Chun Lan Wong Fung Cheong from Mauritius and Louis Francis Joel Sylvain Clement from France.
