Shanghai Maritime University students dive into local culture

Some 50 international students from Shanghai Maritime University participated in a cultural experience event on Nov 23.

The first stop was Zhujiajiao Ancient Town. This historical site, with over 1,700 years of recorded history, dating back to the Song (960-1279) and Yuan (1271-1368) dynasties, is one of Shanghai's renowned cultural treasures.

Locals warmly welcomed the students, guiding them through the town's well-preserved architecture, providing insightful explanations.

The next stop was Guangfulin, a significant archaeological site in Shanghai that encompasses a millennium of the city's history.

There, the students explored the site's underwater museum, gardens and its exhibition halls which display thousands of cultural relics.

After the trip, some visitors shared their memorable moments. They also expressed their views on the importance of cultural preservation and the continuation of community culture.
