Tongji University students explore cutting-edge Chinese technology

Fifty students from Tongji University, representing countries such as France, Russia, Turkmenistan, Malaysia, Myanmar and Peru, experienced the forefront of Chinese technology in Shanghai's Qingpu and Minhang districts on Dec 27.

The day began with a visit to Shanghai Huace Navigation Technology Ltd, a leader in the high-precision spatiotemporal information industry. Gu Hongliang, deputy general manager of the international platform and a Tongji University alumnus from the class of 1996, warmly invited the students to join the company's overseas branches upon returning to their home countries. The students were introduced to the company's extensive global operations, including its agricultural machinery automatic driving systems sold in 68 countries.

The next stop was Panda Wisdom Water Co Ltd, a comprehensive group specializing in smart water-integrated products and system development. The students explored various aspects of the company's water supply system, which leverages technologies such as hydraulic simulation and artificial intelligence. They were impressed by the company's global footprint.

In the Zizhu National High-Tech Zone, students learned about the park's development and the unique features of its resident enterprises. The zone, with consistent double-digit growth in various economic indicators, ranks 9th among national high-tech parks.

The event concluded with a visit to the Shanghai Aerospace Enthusiast's Center, a specialized science education venue offering aerospace exhibits and interactive experiences. The students explored real aircraft and themed exhibition halls, gaining insight into the development of China's large aircraft, the century-long history of aviation, and the mysteries of flight.
