US students explore Jing'an's rich history and culture
Students from the University of Michigan, invited by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, recently explored the "Jing'an Past and Present" Image and Antique Exhibition in Shanghai‘s Jing'an district.
Since its opening on March 1, the exhibition has attracted many Shanghai residents and international visitors. It features rare historical images and well-preserved old objects, illustrating the urban transformation and development of Jing'an district and Shanghai.

Among the exhibits are iron nameplates with house numbers, a postcard sent from Shanghai to Lisbon, Portugal in 1904 featuring a picture of the Arcadia Hall, a landmark building from that time, and a 1950 exercise book with illustrations of the China Welfare Institute Children's Palace.
Earlier in the day, the students enjoyed a cycling tour along Suzhou Creek. One said that the morning ride gave them a glimpse into Shanghai's fashionable and dynamic cultural scene, while the afternoon exhibition offered a window into the city's history.

The exhibition is free and open daily until March 31 from 9 am to 5 pm, with the last entry at 4:30 pm.
