In early April, a group of international students from East China Normal University embarked on a journey to the Affiliated Shunde Midea School in Shunde, Guangdong province, where they engaged in a four-day cultural exchange program.

Internship base cooperation signing ceremony

A key highlight of the program was the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Global Education Center of ECNU and the Affiliated Shunde Midea School to establish an internship base. As part of the partnership, international students will visit the school every year, fostering cultural exchange and mutual understanding among students from diverse backgrounds.

Cultural classes

Throughout the exchange activities, 15 international students took on the role of teachers, delivering a series of engaging lessons for local students. In the middle school classes, they introduced the geography, traditional attire, and culinary cultures of their respective countries. In the primary school classes, they entertained students with interactive games, songs, and videos, creating a lively learning environment.

International cultural festival

The international students also organized a cultural festival for local students, where they presented traditional clothing, specialty foods, and handicrafts. More than 1,500 attendees explored booths representing 15 countries and engaged in a variety of cultural activities ranging from Spanish table soccer games and Vietnamese lantern making to British Harry Potter-themed cloaks and Egyptian embroidered dresses. Meanwhile, they sampled delicious foods and drinks from around the world.

Visit to Midea Group

In addition to school activities, the international students also visited the headquarters of global tech company Midea Group and its AI-powered factory, gaining insights into the modern productivity driven by China's digital manufacturing. At Midea Group's Future Life Pavilion, students experienced the innovative lifestyle offered by smart home technologies, deepening their appreciation for the integration of design and intelligent technology in Chinese enterprises.
