Nineteen students from seven countries have enrolled in a summer school program hosted by Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, focusing on China's achievements in foreign trade and business in the new era.

The program officially launched on July 9, with a ceremony where university leaders welcomed the participants. Wang Rongming, president of SUIBE, highlighted Shanghai's role in the progress of global civilization, noting that the program offers a platform for meaningful cultural exchanges.

Throughout the 21-day program, international students take part in expert lectures, enterprise visits, field trips, cultural workshops, and other activities. Topics range from the Belt and Road Initiative to the China International Import Expo.

The program provides an in-depth exploration of China's foreign trade and its role in the BRI. Students will also gain insights into how the CIIE has promoted global trade, helping them understand China's trade history and current practices within the context of globalization.

Achille Godé, an international student from France, spoke on behalf of the group, expressing his excitement about the opportunity to study in Shanghai. He shared his eagerness to integrate with his peers and build lasting friendships during his time in the city.

Students have been divided into four groups for the field studies. They will also engage in various cultural workshops, earning points through the program. The group with the highest points at the end will receive a mysterious grand prize.

Since its founding, SUIBE has been recognized for its diverse international community. By Aug 2024, the university had established partnerships with 135 institutions across 44 countries and regions.
