Shanghai's first air cargo pre-clearance station lands in Songjiang
Shanghai's first air cargo pre-clearance station officially landed in the Songjiang Comprehensive Bonded Zone on April 26.
The station is expected to improve customs clearance efficiency by 30 percent and reduce logistics costs by 15 percent.
With the station, foreign trade enterprises will no longer need to face long waits at an airport for cargo inspection and security checks.
Goods can undergo all checks and customs procedures before reaching the airport, enabling direct loading onto aircraft.
Located at Warehouse F0, No 120 Rongjiang Road in Songjiang district, the station's first phase supervision area covers 6,000 square meters.
It is expected to start a trial run at the end of July.
Once operational, export goods will undergo security checks, palletizing, and sorting operations directly in the bonded area, with customs clearance handled on-site by Songjiang Customs.
The station can improve the efficiency of cross-border e-commerce, providing strong support for emerging business models like the Silk Road e-commerce model.
Songjiang district, one of the first areas in Shanghai to attract and utilize foreign investment, is now home to nearly 7,500 foreign-funded enterprises.
