All Nook offers a new take on everyday living in Xuhui
All Nook, a new lifestyle store, opened in July at Gate M Nest Park in Xuhui district, offering a range of everyday goods, including small furniture, tableware, fragrances, jewelry, and clothing, all presented in a home-like setting.
All Nook derives its name from the English word "nook", meaning a small, comfortable corner or resting place. The name reflects the brand's vision of creating a distinctive aesthetic throughout the home.
According to founder Qin Man, the store's selection features her own designs, pieces by designers she has discovered overseas, and collections developed in collaboration with Chinese artisans. Many items are one-of-a-kind pieces not available elsewhere in China. If an item is out of stock, customers can contact the store to request a custom order or ask the team to source additional pieces from the original manufacturer.
Instead of organizing products simply by category, the store is designed with interconnected areas resembling a living room, kitchen, and dressing area. Glassware and ceramics are displayed on a round dining table, while Italian aluminum cookware sits on a kitchen stove alongside vintage glassware and stainless steel trays. Bedding is arranged on a wooden bed, and cloth bags hang nearby alongside fruit- and peanut-shaped phone charms. Books, vases, and leather bags are placed on tables alongside blankets and other household items. Plants are positioned between shelves and display tables.
The displays give customers a clearer sense of how the pieces could look in their own homes.
The store features a collection of wood-fired ceramics created in collaboration with Shanghai ceramic artist Zhang Xinrui. The collection includes matcha bowls, teacups, plates, and other tableware, each piece bearing the distinctive marks of the clay and firing process.
The store displays tools and materials used in making wood-fired pottery, including a mortar, steel needles, trimming knives, and even broken ceramic tiles. The display offers visitors an insightful glimpse into the intricate process of crafting ceramics.
A small coffee bar called Nook Cha is located in one corner of the store. It specializes in a selection of Chinese teas, mainly oolong, white, and black teas, as well as a few specialty drinks. The tea ware used at the bar is also available for purchase.
