Petjoy Fashion Week to open at end of month
The 2025 Petjoy Fashion Week will open on Oct 31 at the Shanghai Fashion Center in Yangpu district, bringing together global brands, innovative designs, and lifestyle trends that highlight the fast-growing pet industry.
China's pet industry has entered a new phase of emotionally driven and quality-oriented consumption. The consumption of the sector exceeded 700 billion yuan ($98.22 billion) last year and is projected to reach 1.15 trillion yuan by 2028, driven by growing demand for pet fashion, smart products, and health services. Among these, the pet apparel market is expanding at an annual compound rate of 13.6 percent, while the pet smart hardware market is expected to surpass 20 billion yuan by 2027.
This year's Petjoy Fashion Week promises an engaging lineup. Premium pet lifestyle brand Kanine will make its debut runway appearance, while global fashion houses such as Hugo Boss, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Tommy Hilfiger will showcase their latest pet collections.
In addition to in-person shows, the event will feature a hybrid "online showcase plus offline retail" model through strategic collaborations with major platforms such as RedNote, Dianping, and Dewu. This co-creation approach is expected to generate over 200 million online views and drive related spending beyond 100 million yuan. Group-buying platforms will also roll out co-branded deals, spurring an estimated 40 percent increase in spending across nearby shopping areas.
Building on this momentum, Petjoy Fashion Week will team up with Pet Fair Asia to launch "Shanghai Pet Fashion & Friendly Month", an initiative aimed at promoting industry standardization, globalization, and the full-chain development of the pet economy.
