The 2026 Art Plus Shanghai International Fair is set to take place at the Shanghai Expo venue at ShanghaiMart from Sept 4 to 6. The event will attract more than 100 participating organizations and artists from 40 cities across 16 countries.

The fair will bring together established galleries, including Halcyon Gallery Shanghai, Bridge 8 Art Space, Tingdeco Shanghai Art, and Artful Yao Gallery, as well as dozens of emerging art organizations and independent studios.

This year, the fair has expanded its international lineup by adding a dedicated section for overseas independent artists. Nearly 20 international artists will present works that blend regional cultural influences with global perspectives. Through a partnership with WhyWhyArt and the European Art and Science Association (EASA), the fair will spotlight European galleries and international artists, with a focus on Central European art.

It will feature two themed exhibitions focused on young artists, highlighting original ideas and innovative artistic approaches. Young artists will also receive year-round opportunities to present their work, along with support for their long-term career development. The initiative aims to foster a greater interest in art collecting among younger audiences.

The fair's dedicated lifestyle art section, first introduced in 2021, will return this year to showcase handmade objects, lifestyle products, and other everyday items. This year's edition will feature Jingdezhen ceramics associated with intangible cultural heritage craftsmanship, with participating organizations such as Hanguang China and Shanghai Yufeng Art Co Ltd. The section offers visitors an accessible and engaging way to discover and purchase art-related items for daily use.
