The Swiss Bluefaer Innovation Centre recently opened in Shanghai's Yangpu district — marking a new step forward in China-Switzerland cooperation.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Switzerland. The inauguration of the Swiss innovation center also comes at a key moment as Shanghai strengthens its role as a global center for economy, finance, trade, shipping, and science and technology innovation.

The center aims to serve as a bridge for deeper exchanges and cooperation between the two nations across various fields — including economy, culture, arts, tourism, education and social development.

At the inauguration ceremony, the innovation center signed cooperation agreements with the enterprises that settled there.

Strategic agreements were also signed between the center and the Changbai Xincun Subdistrict Chamber of Commerce of Yangpu district and the government of Rechthalten, a small town located in the Freiburg canton of Switzerland.

Following the launch of an Italian innovation center, the addition of the Swiss Bluefaer Innovation Centre is expected to further strengthen Yangpu's ties to global innovation networks.

It also opens up new opportunities for practical cooperation between China and Europe in trade, technology and culture.
