The One Pet Show 2025 — China's premier pet industry event — met with resounding success when it was held on May 8-11 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), located in Shanghai's Qingpu district.

The event posted a transaction volume of over 35 million yuan ($4.87 million) during its signature New Procurement Festival — a 175 percent increase compared with last year.

First launched in 2023, the latest New Procurement Festival introduced an innovative digital transaction model and incentive mechanisms such as a lucky draw to boost on-site purchases.

The edition attracted over 120 exhibitors and 3,262 qualified buyers, generating more than 20 million yuan in trade during the two days.

This year, organizers further enhanced the festival's format to improve efficiency and buyer engagement.

Measures included 500,000 yuan in subsidies to stimulate transactions, a dedicated procurement map to streamline matchmaking and pre-event signals to facilitate one-on-one connections with key buyers.

The upgrades clearly paid off, with the number of high-quality buyers increasing by an estimated 138 percent year-on-year and total orders surging by 155 percent.

Shanghai-based pet food brand Honestbite retained its position as the top seller, with its on-site transaction value rising by 485 percent.

Meanwhile, the top purchasing company recorded a deal volume that was nearly eight times the level recorded by last year's leading buyer.
