The 24th China (Shanghai) International Optics Fair (SIOF 2026) was held in Shanghai from March 2 to 4, drawing more than 2,000 brands from around the world to a 100,000-square-meter exhibition area. The fair brought together eyewear brands, lens manufacturers, and optical technology companies, offering visitors the opportunity to explore new products, experience emerging technologies, and learn about the latest industry trends.

Among the exhibitors, Zeiss, a German manufacturer of optical systems and optoelectronics, presented its first standalone pavilion at the fair. The pavilion featured several themed areas, including zones focusing on myopia management, new product launches, and future lifestyle scenarios.

During the fair, Zeiss introduced several products aimed at different groups of consumers. One highlight was a children's myopia management product developed in collaboration with Disney. The upcoming Zeiss MyoActive lenses Toy Story gift box combines educational content with a playful design, helping families better understand approaches to childhood myopia management.

Zeiss also presented the new ClearMind lens series, positioned in the premium lens segment. The lenses are designed using neuroscience-based principles and aim to help reduce fatigue caused by visual blur while supporting concentration for everyday eyewear users.

Beyond lenses, the pavilion also displayed a wider range of products, including Zeiss eyeglasses, sunglasses, ski goggles, and other consumer optical products designed for different everyday scenarios.

Artificial intelligence also featured prominently at the fair. Zeiss presented AI-powered smart eyewear solutions and collaborations with technology partners, including RayNeo AI, Qwen, and Quark. The pavilion also showcased professional equipment such as an automated fundus camera and a mobile app offering AI-assisted analysis, designed to support eye examinations and vision care services.

According to Sven Hermann, a member of the executive board of the Zeiss Group and head of its consumer markets segment, China remains the company's largest market for vision care and an important part of its global innovation ecosystem. The company said it will continue to expand its presence in the country while working with industry partners on vision care solutions.
