WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 will take place from Sept 22 to 27. How are the winners selected?
In short, competitors can earn up to 100 marks across 100 to 250 assessment aspects. To allow results to be compared across different skill competitions, scores out of 100 are standardized using the WorldSkills Scale, with the median score in each skill competition set at 700 points.
Gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded to competitors who rank first, second, and third, respectively, on the WorldSkills Scale in each official skill. The competitor or competitors with the highest score among eligible skill competitions receive the Albert Vidal Award.
