The 2024 Modern Drama Valley is set to captivate audiences with a showcase of theatrical performances in Jing'an district, Shanghai, from April 26 to May 13.

An unprecedented lineup of 24 timeless domestic and international productions will grace the stages of nine esteemed theaters. With a total of 104 performances, Shanghai's debut rate will reach an astounding 83 percent.

Inaugurating a new era of cultural inclusivity, the "Drama in the Air" initiative expands its reach to the whole district. For the first time, satellite venues will be established in each subdistrict and town, offering 300 diverse experiences aimed at celebrating Jing'an's vitality, charm and spirit.

At the heart of the Modern Drama Valley, the Jing'an District Culture Center will host immersive experiences, including theatrical performances, competitions, workshops, and experience camps.

Pushing the boundaries of cultural integration, iconic commercial landmarks in Jing'an will feature cultural IPs, pioneering innovative models for cultural consumption and market engagement.

Exciting new projects such as the "Drama Exploration Map" and "Drama Book Drifting" will blend cultural, commercial and tourism elements. From uncovering hidden theatrical treasures along exclusive city walk routes to fostering connections through book sharing, these initiatives promise to enrich the cultural fabric of Shanghai.
