First Shanghai Gifts-themed store opens at West Bund Central
The themed experience store for Shanghai Gifts opened at West Bund Central in Xuhui district on May 19, introducing a new cultural retail concept to the city's signature souvenir brand.
Located inside the Tingdeco Gift Shop, the store is designed as a walkable urban cultural archive. It integrates three functional areas: an art gallery, a modern cultural gift shop, and a Shanghai-style tea and coffee lounge, offering visitors a shopping space that also delivers a more immersive cultural experience.
As Shanghai's signature cultural and tourism brand, Shanghai Gifts aims to preserve local culture, tell Shanghai stories, showcase the city's charm, and revive memories of old Shanghai. The brand currently features 1,121 certified products and has established an extensive sales network both online and offline. In addition to outlets at major commercial and visitor destinations such as the Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai Museum East, and Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, it has also opened three district-level specialty stores in Hongkou, Jiading, and Qingpu. These locations are connected through an online mini program, giving residents and tourists a one-stop official channel for authentic Shanghai-themed gifts.
To further strengthen its themed branding, enrich the immersive experience, and improve services, Shanghai Gifts has introduced this new themed experience store model. Each store is built around a distinct theme, local cultural symbols, and interactive experiences, with tailored cultural settings designed to deepen visitors' connection to Shanghai's local culture.
To celebrate the opening, the store also launched the "Tea in Shanghai" series, featuring more than 20 varieties of Shanghai-style blended teas, along with classic Shanghai afternoon tea sets. The menu pairs local traditional teas with items such as amber walnuts, dried duck gizzards, and savory cakes.
