American bakery brand Cinnabon has opened its first store on the Chinese mainland at Longfeng PRSCO on Middle Huaihai Road in Shanghai's Huangpu district, bringing its signature cinnamon rolls to local customers.

Founded in the United States, Cinnabon has built a global following over nearly four decades for its freshly baked cinnamon rolls made with proprietary Makara cinnamon, hand-rolled dough, and classic cream cheese frosting. As of June 2025, the brand operated more than 2,100 stores across 65 countries and regions.

The Shanghai store offers Cinnabon's signature menu items, including the Classic Roll, Caramel PecanBon, ChocoBon, and MiniBon. Customers can also choose from a range of beverages, including espresso-based coffee, cold brew, and the brand's signature Chillattas frozen blended drinks.

Fresh baking remains central to the Cinnabon experience. As the rolls emerge from the oven and are topped with a generous layer of cream cheese frosting, the aroma of cinnamon fills the store. Fans say the contrast between the lightly crisp exterior, soft center, and warm cinnamon flavor makes the rolls particularly irresistible.

A Cinnabon representative said Shanghai's international and trend-conscious consumer base makes the city a natural choice for the brand's Chinese mainland debut. The company hopes to create a welcoming space where customers can enjoy the comfort and indulgence of freshly baked cinnamon rolls.
