German footwear brand Birkenstock has opened its first community experience store in China at HKRI Taikoo Hui in Shanghai's Jing'an district.

Going beyond traditional retail, the new space serves as a dedicated community hub where visitors can enjoy shoe care services and personalized engraving.

The store also has a foot spa area where visitors can try treatments using products from the Birkenstock Care Essentials range. Experience sessions are available periodically and can be booked through the brand's official WeChat mini program.

Designed around the principles of foot health and traditional Chinese wellness, the store includes a footbed experience zone modeled after a traditional Chinese medicine cabinet. Visitors can test the brand's classic footbeds available in EU sizes 35 to 45, discover the ideal fit for their foot arches, and feel the stable support provided.

The store offers Birkenstock's best-selling styles, such as the Arizona, Boston, and Madrid, along with seasonal collections ideal for everyday wear and city outings.
