List of Friendship Cities
The main goals of establishing friendship cities are to exchange experiences in culture, economy, innovation, and urban management, and especially to promote people-to-people cooperation. As of June 2025, Shanghai and its districts have signed friendship city agreements with 96 cities or regions in 60 countries.
