The 5th Shanghai Global Talents Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition has launched regional contests in Putuo district (Shanghai), Qingdao (Shandong province), and Singapore.

The competition is open for project submissions through March, followed by a written review phase in early April and a roadshow evaluation in late April. Each regional contest will select 15 outstanding projects to advance to the municipal semifinals and compete for a spot in the final.

 

Support

1. Cash prizes

(1) Singapore division

• First prize (one winner): 80,000 yuan ($11,200) and a 10,000-yuan subsidy for an on-site visit to Shanghai
• Second prize (two winners): 20,000 yuan and a 5,000-yuan subsidy for an on-site visit to Shanghai
• Excellence prize (12 winners): 5,000-yuan subsidy for an on-site visit to Shanghai

(2) Putuo and Qingdao divisions

• First prize (one winner): 100,000 yuan, including a 5,000-yuan subsidy for participation
• Second prize (two winners): 50,000 yuan, including a 5,000 yuan subsidy for participation
• Third prize (three winners): 30,000 yuan, including a 5,000 yuan subsidy for participation
• Excellence prize (nine winners): 10,000 yuan, including a 5,000-yuan subsidy for participation
• Finalist award (15 winners): 5,000-yuan subsidy for participation

2. District-level policy support

• First, second, and third prize-winning teams can qualify for one residency support.
• Up to three individuals from the first, second, and third prize-winning teams can apply for district-level talent apartments and receive a housing subsidy of up to 2,000 yuan per person per month.
• Awarded projects will receive free access to Shanghai Talent+ roadshows and investment matchmaking services with more than 10 investment and financing institutions.
• First, second, and third-prize winners will be included in the district's talent recognition system and enjoy priority access to talent services.
• Third-party organizations or individuals who recommend high-quality projects that win awards may receive up to 300,000 yuan in referral bonuses.
• Award winners who have not yet registered a business in the Putuo district but choose to establish their business there may be eligible for up to 200 square meters of free office space.

3. Municipal-level Support

Winners of the municipal final will receive financial, industry, and talent-related support at the city level.
