Shanghai formally inaugurated the Shanghai Service Center for Combined Air-Rail Transport on January 18, a significant step in the city’s pursuit to establish itself as a prominent international shipping hub.

The center, a collaborative effort among diverse entities, saw representatives from its member units signing cooperative agreements at the launch ceremony.

This form of combined transportation specializes in catering to high-value-added and time-sensitive goods.

As part of its ongoing development, the Shanghai East Railway Station, currently under construction, has allocated space to accommodate facilities for combined air-rail logistics.
