Upon completion of a round trip of 8,534 kilometers, China's first self-developed narrow-body aircraft C919 has successfully wrapped up its first overseas debut on Feb 26, and returned to the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport for regular commercial operation, according to the jet's first global customer China Eastern Airlines.

The first C919 arrived at Singapore on Feb 17, joining other homegrown aircraft manufactured by Commercial Aircraft Corp of China (COMAC) to participate in the Singapore Airshow.

The domestically made jet was labeled as one of the most anticipated products at the Asia's largest aviation exhibition that runs through Feb 20 until Feb 25.

During the six-day air show, the first C919 received more than 20 batches of group visitors on each of the professional spectator's day. Visitors onboard included aircraft manufacturers, aviation service providers, and heads and senior professionals from enterprises along the aviation industry chain, according to Hu Hong, a manager of China Eastern Airlines' cabin department.

These visitors have shown great interest towards the aircraft, and some of them learned about the details of the jet including cabin layout, passenger capacity, commercial routes, operating data and plans on future flights, Hu added.

The jetliner immediately resumed its regular operation between Shanghai and Chengdu of Sichuan province on Feb 26 afternoon, according to China Eastern.
