China begins construction of 2nd large cruise ship
A special team was formed on March 20 for the launching of the structural construction of the nation's second domestically produced large cruise ship, according to local news portal eastday.com.
The quality and precision of the structural construction have laid the foundation for the construction procedures of the vessel.
In comparison with the first homegrown cruise ship Adora Magic City, the second cruise vessel will realize a series of optimizations and its construction time will be shortened by eight months.
Based on the experience gained in building the first China-made cruise ship, preparation work on labor, resources, and cost management will kick off in advance to ensure the quality and safety management of the new ship, said Chen Jianwei, assistant to the general manager of China State Shipbuilding Corporation's Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co Ltd.
