Shanghai is gearing up to integrate a new train station into its public transportation network, poised to emerge as a pivotal transportation hub facilitating more convenient and efficient travel within the city and throughout the Yangtze River Delta region.

The upcoming station, situated in Xinzhuang, Minhang district, will play a crucial role in connecting Shanghai with Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang province. Upon completion, the station will serve as a vital transportation nexus and seamlessly link several metro lines, including Metro Lines 1 and 5, and the line to the suburban Jinshan district.

The establishment of this station marks a transformation of a previous stopover or cross-passing station. It is designed to feature three platforms and six tracks, along with a terminal building currently undergoing its initial phase of construction. The six-floor terminal building will encompass three underground parking floors, and the other three respectively for departures and arrivals, transfers, and commercial activities.
