Shanghai, renowned for its dynamic innovation landscape, will host the 5th Shanghai Y50 Forum for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the iconic Shanghai Tower on May 18, announced the organizing committee during a press briefing on May 9.
The forum is poised to explore the contemporary demands, the variety of opportunities, and the immense potential of youth in driving innovation and entrepreneurship in Shanghai.
Keynote speeches, annual releases, policy introductions, and roundtable discussions will be among the activities aimed at providing practical and effective public service products tailored to support youth engagement in innovation and entrepreneurship.
Distinguished from its predecessors, this year's forum will showcase several innovative features, according to the organizing committee. It will serve as a global networking hub and talent magnet, with the annual Shanghai training camp for youth innovation and entrepreneurship extending its reach to young talents worldwide.
The camp will focus on pivotal themes such as the science, technology, culture, and tourism industries as well as innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives involving youth from Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Macao.
Additionally, it will provide specialized empowerment courses designed to cater to the needs of various groups engaged in innovation and entrepreneurship endeavors.
The organizing committee emphasized the launch of the inaugural Shanghai Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base, envisioned as a hub for aspiring youth to engage in activities such as independent research and development, technology transfer, enterprise incubation, technology services, and talent nurturing.
The base is a vital link in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, facilitating connections with incubators, guiding industrial focus areas, support policies, and supplementary services.
Moreover, the forum will unveil a comprehensive support plan for youth innovation and entrepreneurship, consolidating support policies from different districts and parks to serve as a navigational tool for global youth.
Launched in 2020, the forum aims to foster a conducive ecosystem for the growth and development of youth-driven initiatives in Shanghai.
