Shanghai Metro gears up for Olympic Qualification Series
In anticipation of a surge of international visitors, the Shanghai Metro prepared a comprehensive operational support plan to ensure efficiency and safety throughout the Olympic Qualification Series that commenced on May 16.
The Xizang South Road Station of Shanghai Metro's Line 4 and Line 8, as well as the World Expo Museum Station of Line 13 are essential transportation hubs for the event. Both stations implemented a range of measures.
The World Expo Museum Station installed wall-mounted directional signs and route maps, along with QR codes for passengers to swiftly access event schedules. Meanwhile, Xizang South Road Station simulated walking paths to the venue and set up Olympic venue directional signs to offer clear event details and entry guidance to passengers.

Furthermore, the Shanghai Metro established bilingual service counters at the World Expo Museum Station, offering event schedules, route maps, translation devices, and more. Many staff have installed translation apps on their phones to ensure seamless bilingual services.
The Shanghai Metro also closely monitored the passenger flow during the event to manage peak passenger volumes and optimize train operations.
Before the event, the subway stations also conducted a series of targeted and intensive emergency drills to bolster staff's emergency response capabilities.
Through these actions, the Shanghai Metro is dedicated to providing passengers with a more convenient and comfortable service experience, thereby contributing to the successful execution of the Olympic Qualification Series event.
