Shanghai is gearing up to host the 21st Shanghai Education Expo, set to commence on May 24 at the Shanghai Exhibition Center, announced the Shanghai Education Press Group during a press briefing in Shanghai on May 17.

The expo will be a hybrid event, with both offline and online components. The offline exhibition is scheduled to run from May 24 to 26, while the online exhibition will run concurrently and extend until the end of June.

Themed "Embracing Science for a Brighter Future, Education Empowers a Strong Nation", the expo aims to become a dynamic platform for exploring the future development of education and talent cultivation in a rapidly evolving global landscape. Zhong Lixin, president of the event's organizer, Shanghai Education Press Group, emphasized the significance of this showcase in promoting educational excellence.

With 127 education exhibitors participating, the expo will shine a spotlight on Shanghai's exemplary curriculum design, unique practices, and notable accomplishments in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education and fostering innovation. It will also feature two themed zones that focus on the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and advancements in science education. Notably, schools from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui provinces will participate in the on-site exhibition for the first time, adding a regional dimension to the event.

In addition to the exhibition, a diverse range of activities will be rolled out, including themed lectures, courses, vocational training workshops, and consultation services related to education catering to both education workers and parents. The main forum is expected to delve into pressing topics such as "Scientific Education and Global Development" and "Scientific Education and Innovative Talent Cultivation", and is set to feature insights from industry experts and professionals on global models of STEM education and talent development.

For those accessing the expo online, the "Shanghai EduExpo" mini-program will serve as the gateway. Starting from May 27, the organizers have planned 10 livestreaming sessions focusing on strategies to nurture top-notch innovative talents. Each session will spotlight officials from authoritative education departments, alongside teachers and students from different regions, thus fostering interactive discussions and knowledge sharing.
