The upcoming 2024 Shanghai International Carbon Neutrality Expo in Technologies, Products, and Achievements, scheduled to take place from June 5 to 8 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, promises to unveil significant achievements and emerging trends in the realm of carbon neutrality, announced the event organizers during a press briefing on May 17.

Themed "Pathway towards Carbon Neutrality", the expo is structured around three key components: themed exhibitions, a series of lectures, and trade pairing activities. Anticipated to attract over 80,000 attendees, the event will bring together more than 600 companies from 14 countries and regions, and occupy a vast exhibition space that spans over 100,000 square meters.

Zhu Minlin, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Development & Reform Commission, which is a co-organizer of the event, highlighted that the expo will serve as a platform to showcase the latest advancements in carbon emission reduction and shed light on the future trajectory of the industry. One of the central focuses of the event will be the low-carbon supply chain, thanks to the unveiling of the CN100 Alliance, which aims at fostering collaboration and communication among key stakeholders in the green supply chain, while also encouraging them to reach 100 percent carbon neutrality.

Explaining the significance of the CN100 Alliance, Zhou Minhao, chairman of the Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Shanghai, another event co-organizer, emphasized that the name of this alliance symbolizes both China and carbon neutrality.

The expo will also spotlight the evolution of green transportation, featuring participation from more than 40 domestic and international car enterprises.

Through trade pairing sessions at the expo, enterprises will have the opportunity to explore potential cooperation avenues to drive their low-carbon transformation and foster sustainable development practices.

The expo's agenda also includes a main forum and six parallel forums, with the main forum scheduled to take place at Kerry Hotels in Pudong New Area on the morning of June 7. Discussions will encompass case studies that highlight green supply chain initiatives, green energy transformations, low-carbon supply chain construction, and emerging trends in the development of carbon neutrality technology.
