Shanghai announces innovative robotic solutions to treat brain bleeds
A robotic solution developed to enhance brain bleed diagnosis and treatment was announced by Sinovation and Shanghai Fourth People's Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University on July 9.
For patients with brain bleeds, this invention will shorten surgery time, lower risks, and hasten recovery.
Zhang Zhiwen, director of neurosurgery at Shanghai Fourth People's Hospital, said that this 3D structured light registration technology can realize the rapid recognition and registration of faces, and integrates the information with CT/MRI images to achieve target navigation and localization.
The automatic path design software helps doctors map a safe and fast surgical path. It serves as an intelligent navigator for doctors to ensure a positive outcome regarding brain bleed surgeries, according to Zhang.
The innovative combination of the module and the 3D structured light localization system has greatly improved the precision and safety of brain bleed surgeries.
