With just over 110 days left until the seventh China International Import Expo (CIIE) opens its doors, anticipation is building not only for this year's event but also for the eighth edition in 2025, as several exhibitors have already secured their participation.
At a recent launch ceremony for the eighth CIIE, 26 companies inked contracts to partake in the 2025 expo, collectively reserving a substantial exhibition area spanning 15,000 square meters. Among these early signatories are industry giants such as L'Oréal, Volvo Cars, Mitsubishi Electric, 3M, HSBC, and Louis Dreyfus, all of whom have been longstanding participants in the CIIE since its inception in 2018.
Chinese Assistant Minister of Commerce Tang Wenhong highlighted the significance of commencing exhibitor recruitment for the 8th CIIE well over a year in advance. This proactive approach underscores the CIIE's steadfast dedication to long-term growth and continuous enhancement, while also underscoring the unwavering support from international enterprises for this globally renowned trade platform.
Tang reiterated the CIIE's core mission as the world's first national-level import-themed expo, emphasizing its pivotal role in facilitating access to China's burgeoning consumer market and fostering international collaboration and exchange.
Throughout its six previous editions, the CIIE has solidified its reputation as a premier hub for international procurement, investment promotion, cultural interchange, and open cooperation. The expo has hosted over 19,000 exhibitors, debuting more than 2,400 innovative products, technologies, and services, with cumulative deals surpassing an impressive $420 billion.
As the countdown to the seventh CIIE progresses, the ceremony also unveiled the latest developments for this year's event. Exhibitor recruitment for the exhibition area is nearing its end, with contracted space already exceeding 350,000 square meters, underscoring the continued allure and significance of the CIIE on the global stage.
Scheduled to take place annually in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10, the CIIE presents a prime opportunity for international companies to secure their presence at both the upcoming seventh edition and the future 8th edition. Early registration is encouraged to secure coveted spots and capitalize on the myriad opportunities for business expansion, networking, and market access that the CIIE affords.
