Ticket pre-sales for the 2024 Shanghai Book Fair have begun, signaling the start of a literary extravaganza. With the theme "Love Reading Love Life", the event will be held from Aug 14 to 20 at the Shanghai Exhibition Center in Shanghai's Jing'an district.
As in the previous year, the 2024 Shanghai Book Fair features distinct day and night sessions, priced at a nominal 10 yuan ($1.37) for daytime entry and 5 yuan for the night session. The daytime segment runs from 9 am to 5 pm, with admission allowed until 4:30 pm, while the night session extends from 5 pm to 9 pm on weekdays and Sundays, and stretches to 9:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, with admissions closing at 8:30 pm.
In addition to online ticket pre-sales on damai.cn, China's leading ticketing platform, 30 Xinhua bookstores across the city are also providing on-site ticket purchasing services for eager attendees. Furthermore, the Shanghai Exhibition Center will provide on-site ticket procurement booths at its entry and exit points, ensuring easy access for all visitors.
To purchase pre-sale tickets online, go to Damai's official app or website and search for the Shanghai Book Fair ("上海书展"). Click on the reservation icon to complete the booking process.
Important guidelines have been established to simplify ticket purchases and enhance the event experience:
1. Electronic tickets will be issued, necessitating real-name binding on each ticket.
2. Each account is limited to purchasing a maximum of five tickets per day for each session.
3. Daytime ticket purchases must be finalized by 12 pm, the day before the visit, while nighttime ticket acquisitions should be completed before 10 pm on the previous day.
4. Full-price tickets are required for children's entry.
5. Refunds are permitted 24 hours before the session's starting time.
6. Once sold, tickets cannot exchanged, transferred, or gifted.
