Shanghai to host 48th WorldSkills Competition in 2026
The 48th WorldSkills Competition is set to take place in Shanghai from Sept 22 through 27 in 2026, according to the Shanghai Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.
According to the announcement, the opening ceremony will be held on Sept 22, with the competition running from Sept 23 through 26. The closing ceremony will then conclude the event on Sept 27.
Known as the "WorldSkills Olympics", the WorldSkills Competition is one of the most renowned global events celebrating vocational skill excellence.
To date, WorldSkills has successfully staged 46 competition cycles, including a special edition in 2022.
The upcoming 47th edition is scheduled for Lyon in France from Sept 10 to 15 this year, where China will be fully represented with a delegation competing across all 59 skill categories.
