In prelude to the 2024 Shanghai International Magic Week, the Shanghai Magic New Generation Training Program kicked off on Aug 10 at the Nine Trees Future Art Center in Shanghai's Fengxian district, providing a platform for young magicians to showcase their talents.
Focusing on the emerging generation of young magicians, the program has invited over 10 young magicians to infuse fresh blood and innovative ideas into their performances, including several magicians born after 2000. Among them are rising stars who have graced the highest stages of magic competitions in China and up-and-coming talents exploring new forms of magic entertainment.
Presented in the format of a flash magic show at a cafe, the program is held in the new performance space within the Nine Trees Future Art Center, offering audiences the chance to enjoy a 60-minute magic show while sipping coffee in the theater. 30 magic performances are scheduled to run until the eve of the Shanghai International Magic Week in October.
Shanghai International Magic Week, recognized as one of the top magic festivals in Asia, has consistently aimed to serve as an international platform for magicians from around the world to exchange skills, showcase their talents, and propel the evolution of magic art in the new era, according to the organizer.
