Shanghai prepares to shine at intl light festival

East China's Shanghai is gearing up to dazzle residents and visitors alike with the debut of the Shanghai International Light Festival, a showcase of light installations and artistic performances that promises to transform the cityscape into a mesmerizing canvas of illumination.
The Shanghai Landscaping and City Appearance Administration Bureau unveiled details and posters for the event on Tuesday, igniting anticipation for a radiant display of creativity and innovation.
Dubbed "Travel in Light", the festival is set to feature a raft of themed events and designate 100 captivating locations throughout the city for exploration.
At both the main venue the Shanghai Exhibition Center and satellite locations across 12 districts, including Pudong New Area, a symphony of light and color will unfold from Sept 19 to Oct 18.
The main event, taking place on Sept 19-27, will serve as the focal point of the festival – offering visitors an immersive experience through awe-inspiring light installations and enchanting architectural projections.
As part of the festivities surrounding the inaugural edition, festival organizers have crafted especially designed posters showcasing iconic Shanghai landmarks bathed in a radiant glow – offering a glimpse of the visual splendor that awaits attendees.
The posters serve as a tantalizing preview of the artistry and creativity that will illuminate the city during the festival's run.
