Air China's first C919 plane completes debut commercial flight
Air China's first C919 passenger plane completed its inaugural commercial flight on Sept 10, landing at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport from Beijing Capital International Airport.
The C919 aircraft, adorned with the national flag, boasts a configuration of 158 seats in two classes.
With eight seats in business class and 150 seats in economy, the aircraft is the first C919-ER jet featuring an enhanced design with a larger maximum takeoff weight and engine thrust.
These improvements are said to enable the plane to undertake longer flight routes and extended flying times.
Air China's C919 plane is scheduled to service two regular routes, one connecting Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport, the other between Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport.
Following the commercial debut of C919 airplanes by China Eastern Airlines and Air China, China Southern Airlines is poised to introduce its inaugural commercial flight on Sept 19.
The upcoming flight will connect Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport with Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. The aircraft will feature a total of 164 seats spread across three classes, including eight seats in business class, 18 in premium economy class and 138 in economy.
