Shanghai prepares festive landscape lighting for National Day holiday
Shanghai is gearing up to dazzle residents and visitors alike as the city's landscape lighting undergoes a transformation into holiday mode in honor of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The Shanghai Landscaping and City Appearance Administrative Bureau announced on Sept 26 that the festive lights will illuminate the city during the upcoming National Day holiday, from Sept 30 to Oct 7, adding a touch of celebration to the nighttime skyline.
Dynamic lights featuring colorful transition effects will be activated to infuse key areas throughout the city with a festive ambiance. Landmarks such as the Bund, North Bund, the core area of Lujiazui, major buildings, commercial complexes, areas along the Suzhou Creek, and the city's main arteries, elevated roads, and bridges will all be adorned with vibrant displays. Along the Huangpu River, both riverbanks will come alive with waterfall lights, enhancing the scenic beauty of the waterfront.
In addition, National Day-themed videos and slogans will be projected twice every 30 minutes on the facades of major buildings lining the river. Illumination hours will be extended one hour longer than normal, starting from 6 pm and lasting until either 10:30 pm or 11 pm.
