Legoland Shanghai Resort to open next summer
The Legoland Shanghai Resort is slated to welcome visitors in the summer of next year, announced its operator Merlin Entertainments at the 7th China International Import Expo on Nov 6.
John Jakobsen, the resort's chief operating officer, expressed his enthusiasm for the park's launch, highlighting the strong ties between Legoland Shanghai Resort and the CIIE. He emphasized the pivotal role of China in Merlin Entertainments' global expansion strategy, underscoring the significance of the Shanghai resort in their strategic plans for the Chinese market.
A booth event held at the CIIE showcased the unveiling of a full resort concept video, offering a glimpse into the immersive experience awaiting visitors. Additionally, a membership program was launched, presenting a range of exclusive benefits, including insights into construction progress, ticket launches, and limited-product offerings.
Positioned as a comprehensive tourist destination tailored for families with children, the Legoland Shanghai Resort will stand as the 11th Lego-themed park worldwide and the first in China. Nestled in Fengjing, a town within Shanghai's suburban Jinshan district, the resort integrates park and hotel elements, boasting over 75 interactive rides, shows, and attractions spread across eight immersive sections.
Upon its opening next year, the Legoland Shanghai Resort is set to become as a must-visit destination for both local and international guests seeking adventure and entertainment in the Yangtze River Delta region, Jakobsen said.
