Shanghai launches yacht industry alliance, waterfront hub
Shanghai inaugurated the North Bund Yacht Station on Dec 30, marking a significant step forward for the city as it seeks to develop its world-class waterfront area along the Huangpu River.
The station, boasting a unique design and 978 square meters of space, will serve as a vital link between the riverside promenade and the nearby green spaces. It will offer amenities for visitors while also providing diverse yacht-related services, capitalizing on the area's rich maritime heritage.
Coinciding with the station's opening, the Shanghai Yacht Industry Development Alliance was officially established. The alliance, spearheaded by the China Ports and Harbors Association and joined by 23 founding members, including yacht clubs, manufacturers, and related businesses, aims to push forward the growth of Shanghai's yacht industry.
The alliance will focus on resource integration, promoting yacht tourism, and establishing a robust and high-quality industry ecosystem.
A round-table discussion on the development of the yacht industry was also held, with participants from leading organizations like the China Classification Society and Shanghai Jiangnan Shipyard engaging in in-depth conversations on product development, maintenance standards, and market expansion.
The North Bund Bay International Cruise Terminal's official WeChat account and mini-program will provide updates on the yacht industry and offer customized services for cruises, yachts, and other waterfront activities.
