To better serve air travelers arriving in Shanghai, the newly launched Shanghai Suburban Railway Airport Link Line now offers enhanced digital services through the city's public transportation platform, Suishenxing.
The Airport Link Line, launched on Dec 27, connects the city's two major airports, with ticket prices ranging from 4 to 26 yuan ($0.55-$3.55) per ride.
Through the Suishenxing app or mini-programs on WeChat and Alipay, travelers can easily access information on urban rail transfers, plan their trips in detail, and obtain a QR code known as Suishenma for seamless access to all public transportation.
New users of Suishenxing can also enjoy special discounts.
Throughout January, those registering for a promotional campaign on the platform are eligible to receive a 10 percent discount per ride on both the metro and the suburban railway.
This offer is valid during peak travel periods, including New Year's Day and Spring Festival.
Previously, discounts for Shanghai's metro network via the Suishenma code were only available for those who spent over 70 yuan in a given month, which qualified them for a 10 percent discount.
