Yida Hospital launches international medical center
The International Medical Center of Shanghai Yida Hospital was inaugurated recently. The center provides direct billing services for policyholders of international and local insurance companies, offering globally standardized medical services for expatriates in Qingpu district.
The center features independent consultation areas where patients can complete various tests — including blood draws, urinalysis, ultrasounds, and electrocardiograms — within a dedicated zone. Other procedures such as examinations, treatments, surgeries, hospitalization, and rehabilitation also benefit from exclusive access, significantly reducing waiting times.
According to hospital officials, the center leverages the institution’s extensive medical resources and expert teams to offer six specialized services: direct international insurance billing, combined primary care and specialist consultations, bilingual patient accompaniment throughout visits, priority access via green channels, personalized health record management, and multilingual consultation support.
These services create a streamlined "green channel" for healthcare access for both local and international patients.
"Seeking medical care in a foreign country can be intimidating, but here it's very convenient with no language barriers — communication is smooth," said John Smith, a long-time Shanghai resident.
After experiencing minor health issues, he promptly booked an appointment upon learning about the center’s opening and completed all necessary tests without hassle.
