Shanghai's sports spending per capita reached a new high of 4,362.7 yuan ($600.74) in 2024, representing a 6.4 percent increase from the previous year, showcasing growing enthusiasm for sports and fitness among the city's residents.
The figures were released in a report presented at a news conference for the Shanghai Sports Consumption Festival on April 28.
According to the report, total sports-related consumption in the city reached 108.2 billion yuan in 2024.
