Codes of Tides, a multimedia art exhibition jointly presented by the Museum of Contemporary Art, Shanghai, Goldsmiths, University of London, Shanghai United Media Group, and the Shanghai International Culture Association, is being held at the Troy House Art Foundation during the London Tech 2025 from June 6 to 13.
The exhibition transformed the flowing characteristics of the Huangpu River and the Thames River into a journey of feelings blending technology and arts, adopting real-time data collection and AI visualized analysis to generate an artistic rendition of the financial indexes of Shanghai and London.
The exhibition is part of the major project Our Water, an international communication program aiming to promote humanistic exchanges between Shanghai and various waterfront cities around the world.
Opened by a ceremony and the Our Water London Forum on June 10, the dialogue between the two major waterfront metropolises will showcase a series of events including art exhibitions, catering exchanges, and financial salons.
The curators of the exhibition include Sun Wenqian, the executive director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Shanghai, and William Latham, a pioneering representative of generative art and a professor in computer sciences at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Featuring a list of top global artists, the exhibition is a feast of experimental art combining imaging, multimedia elements, installments, sculptures, and paintings to transcend AI, ecological sciences, financial systems, and philosophical inspirations.
