Shanghai is inviting young creatives from around the world to submit original artworks that capture their vision of the city's future, as part of a global campaign showcasing Shanghai's dynamic and imaginative spirit.

Organized by IP Shanghai, a platform dedicated to promoting the city's cultural identity, the campaign runs through Aug 31 with the theme "Shanghai — Future City".

Open to participants aged 18 to 35, the initiative encourages submissions in photo or video format. Photo entries may include a single image or a collection of 4 to 15 images. Videos should run between 60 and 90 seconds and include a brief written description. Subtitles, if used, must be in simplified Chinese or English.

The campaign welcomes a broad spectrum of artistic expression, including traditional media such as oil painting, watercolor, and sculpture, as well as applied arts like architectural and industrial design. Digital works, including game design and virtual reality art, are also eligible.

All submissions must be original and free of third-party rights issues. Selected works will be promoted on IP Shanghai’s official social media platforms.

Creators of standout entries may be featured in a short documentary about their work, which will be published on IP Shanghai, The Paper, and other mainstream media outlets, as well as through new media platforms of local government agencies.

Submissions can be uploaded through the official campaign website at www.ipshanghai.cn.
